Our legacy specialty poultry farm has roots in free-range rotational grazing and utilizes a collection of natural whole-systems agricultural practices to include: biomimicry, vermiculture, entomoculture, aquaculture, silvopasture, and permaculture.
These farming methods utilize practices passed down through the years, with each generation of farmers in our family adding techniques to our overarching methodology. Our farm utilizes whole systems design methods to garner inputs from each carefully selected organism. This allows for a fully self-contained farming method.
ABOUT The Golden Hen Farm
At the Golden Hen Farm, we cultivate more than just a love of chicken farming and their eggs. We believe that, like our family passing down methods between each generation, our hens pass down knowledge and add value to the flock. Each hen lives out the entirety of their life in the flock, even after losing egg production in their retirement. Our passion is caring for our happy, healthy hens and providing the best, most nutritious eggs possible.
BIOMIMICRY & ECO-DESIGN
The methods used on our farm keep our supply chain almost entirely in-house. From vermiculture and entomoculture, to rotational grazing and aquaculture, we use the natural functions of each organism we cultivate to create a farm scale food-chain that provides the necessary inputs for each organism to thrive.
